The resort slasher that made volume-shifted boards normal. For 26/27 Travis Rice reshaped the Orca with a rounder nose that starts turns more easily. Wide enough underfoot to float without a long tail dragging you around, narrow enough that it still fits between trees and bumps.
What you get
- Reshaped nose for 26/27. Rounder than the original Orca, so turn initiation is easier.
- Volume-shifted shape. Ride roughly 5-7 cm shorter than your normal board and keep the float.
- Flex 7. Stable when you let it run, still manageable in tight terrain.
- Ocean-bound hemlock core. Mervin's reclaimed-material construction, built in Washington.

We are a snowboard shop with a bench, not a warehouse. Come into 463 Main St and stand on the board before you commit, and bring your boots: fit and size depend on your feet far more than your height. We mount, tune and wax in-house, and we will tell you honestly if a cheaper board in the rack suits you better.
Common questions
What size Orca do I need? Shorter than you think. Most riders on a 158 land on a 153 here. Width does the work. Come in and we will size you against your boots.
Is it hard to ride? No, but it is directional. Switch riding is possible, not pleasant. If you ride switch regularly, the T.Rice Pro is the board.
Orca II or Golden Orca? Orca II is softer and more forgiving. Golden Orca is stiffer, snappier and $100 more. Most riders are better off on the Orca II.
